The Vision Shared Board of Directors come from different regions of West Virginia and represent almost every sector of the state’s economy, from business and labor to academia and the non-profit world. Vision Shared operations are managed by a president/chief executive officer who, in coordination with a support services provider, ensures that all aspects of Vision Shared’s administration and activities adhere to federal and state regulations and the highest standards of operation.

Michael Basile is Managing Member of Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC and has served as such since 2004. Formed in 1864, Spilman has offices in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
Mike practices in the firm's Charleston, W.Va., office. He was born in Fairmont and is a graduate of West Virginia University (B.S., Finance, 1987) and the University of Pittsburgh (J.D., 1991).
Mike was admitted to the West Virginia State Bar in 1991. He is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
He served as Associate General Counsel, General Counsel and Deputy Chief of Staff for Gov. Gaston Caperton (1994-1997); General Counsel to the West Virginia Development Office (1993-1994); Assistant and Senior Assistant Attorney General (1991-1993); and has practiced at Spilman Thomas & Battle since 1997. Mike’s primary areas of practice are business law and government relations.
His past affiliations include: the West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement Board; West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council; West Virginia Steel Futures Inc.; Energy Village Inc.; Counsel to the Transition Team of Governor Bob Wise; West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Task Force; and Counsel to the Transition Team of Gov. Joe Manchin III.
In addition to the Vision Shared Board of Directors, Mike’s current affiliations include the Charleston Inter-Regional Chamber of Commerce, Charleston Area Alliance and Young Presidents’ Organization.
Mike lives in Charleston with his wife Susan and sons Michael and Harry.
