LEADERSHIP

The Vision Shared Board of Directors come from different regions of West Virginia and represent almost every sector of the state’s economy, from business and labor to academia and the non-profit world. Vision Shared operations are managed by a president/chief executive officer who, in coordination with a support services provider, ensures that all aspects of Vision Shared’s administration and activities adhere to federal and state regulations and the highest standards of operation.

Laura joined BB&T (formerly One Valley Bank) in January of 1986 and has 27 years of trust experience. She is a graduate of Marshall University, West Virginia State University and received her EMBA from Marshall University in 2008. She is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute, a three-year Trust School at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; the Charleston Regional Chamber of Commerce 1998 Leadership Charleston Class and a 1999 graduate of the West Virginia State Chamber of Commerce Leadership West Virginia.

Laura currently serves as President of the Charleston Estate Planning Council. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Vandalia Rotary Club, Fund for the Arts and Rea of Hope. She serves on the West Virginia Banker’s Trust Committee and the West Virginia Probate Committee.

Her past board involvements include: Kanawha Pastoral Counseling, Capitol Market, West Virginia Youth Symphony, West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Big Brothers Big Sisters State Chamber of Commerce, Leadership West Virginia, President of the Trust Division of the West Virginia Bankers Association, Appointed by Cecil H. Underwood to the Kid’s Chance of WV Inc. Board, Captain Fund for the Arts Corporate Fund Raising Team, Charleston and Huntington Estate Planning Councils, CAMC Golf Committee and the CAMC Foundation Gala Committee.

Laura is also an avid fundraiser for many organizations.
